See KMM Talent's Brett Roman Williams In Fences Jul 23 - Aug 4

The It Factor Productions pleased to invite you to attend the upcoming stageplay “Fences,” in which you can see one of our KMM Talent, Brett Roman Williams, acting on stage.  The play is being performed at the mainstage of Plays and Players Theater in Downtown Philadelphia.  Alycia Kaback and The It Factor Productions staff are thrilled about Brett’s theater acting success story and can’t wait to see him perform in the show.  Get tickets here.

Brett says:

“Studying production teaches you the components necessary to bring things together to create a film project,” Williams said. “He’s essentially the person in charge of a business, and I never thought of doing anything else until I was living in New York and working as an intern in production for Focus Features. Eventually, I came back to Philly, where the production field is not as busy as it is in New York. I soon became bored and looked for something else to do, and that’s when I thought about acting.”

So Brett enrolled in Freedom Theater and the Walnut Street Theater to take acting classes. Soon, he said, he was “bitten by the bug,” eventually signing with Kaback Model Management and making his acting debut with GoKash Productions in 2011. Today, in addition to acting, Williams is also a writer, working on a television pilot, screenplays and more.

“I feel as though I have been blessed in many ways with many talents,” he said. And one of those blessings, he insisted, was being cast in ‘Fences’ which came about thanks to his friendship with the show’s director, Damien Wallace.  Alycia Kaback always emphasizes the power of networking.

“It’s often very difficult to get a reading or audition for a play. But Damien suggested me to Kash Goins, the man in charge of this whole project. Because of that, I was asked to join the cast. I had been on my way back to New York, but doing ’Fences’ is such a rare opportunity. You just don’t turn down August Wilson, especially in my young acting career of just two years.”

It is the 1987 Pulitzer Prize winning classic ,”Fences”, by the late great American playwright August Wilson. Set in the 1950s, it is the sixth in Wilson’s ten-part Pittsburgh Cycle. Like all of the Pittsburgh plays, Fences explores the evolving African-American experience and examines race relations, among other themes. The play won the 1987 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the 1987 Tony Award for Best Play.

The focus of Wilson’s attention in Fences is Troy Maxson, a 53-year-old head of household who struggles with providing for his family and with his obsession with cheating death. The story wrestles with questions about racial barriers surrounding his failed career as a baseball player and his job as a trash collector.  Find out what happens to Troy and see KMMs Bret act in the play here:
