JAY: Male, late 20s-early 30s. African American. Solid/tall/powerful physique of a champion heavyweight boxer. An athlete through-and-through, but one who operates with the swagger of an artist. Knows he’s the best out there. A loveable bravado. Stubborn. Kind. Charismatic. Strong. Willing to go up against any odds.
WYNTON: Male, 50s. JAY’s trainer. African American. Knowledgeable. There isn't much he hasn’t seen. Can switch between multiple worlds with ease and fluidity. Paternal. A former athlete himself, but one born to another era.
NINA: Female, 30s. African American. JAY' s fierce older sister, strong willed and smart. Has a deep soft spot for her family. While deeply caring her fierce sense of what’s best can come off as stern and intimidating, but it’s mostly a veneer.
FISH: Male, 18. African American. An amateur boxer, who becomes JAY’s sparring partner. An athlete, with a ambitious, a youthful energy and an inherent if unassuming sweetness. Must work very hard to get where he feels he deserv
